Frequently Asked Questions

Registration

  1. Do I need to register for this conference?
    Yes. Registration is available here.
  2. Can I register if I am not presenting a paper?
Yes. While there is a limited number of places, registration is open to anyone.
  3. What is the registration fee?
Student Rate: £30, Full Rate: £60.
A small number of free places are available internally to King’s College, London students and staff.
  4. I’m a student/staff member at King’s – how do I apply to an internal place at the conference?
A small number of places are available internally to King’s staff and students. These are available on a first-come, first-served basis. To get one of these places register as normal and select the “Internal KCL” option. If the option is not offered then the places have been filled and you will need to register at the appropriate rate to attend. King’s affiliation will be checked at arrival for those registered for an internal place.

Program

  1. What time will the conference start/end?
The conference will start Thursday afternoon and will close after a full day on the Friday. A reception and poster session will take place on Thursday evening. The full program with times will be available shortly.
  2. Where can I see a list of the selected papers?
A list of the selected papers can be found here. Click on the title of a paper to be taken to it’s abstract.

Funding

  1. Can you offer funding so that I can attend?
Sadly we are not able to offer funding for attendees although we are happy to assist if we can in your applications to other funding bodies for travel allowances.
  2. I am applying for funding and need a letter of invitation. Can you provide one?
Yes. We can provide a written letter of invitation to attend upon request for funding applications. If you are coming from a country for which the UK has a visa requirement and need a letter of attendance for visa applications then we can only provide these after registration.

Poster Session

  1. When will the poster session be?
The poster session will take place as part of the reception on the evening of Thursday 13th September.
  2. How big should the poster be?
Posters should be no larger than A1. While there is no minimum poster size we would recommend that you don’t have a poster under A3.
  3. Can I have a digital demo/component to my poster?
Yes. However we would strongly recommend that you also have a physical poster in addition to your digital demonstration. Please let the organisers know if you are planning to do this so they can ensure that there is enough plugs available. Also please note that because the posters take place concurrently all audio should be kept to a minimum or delivered through headphones.
